Did you know apprenticeships are a good way to help fill entry level cybersecurity roles? Meet Albert Preli. He’s one of Midwest Cyber Center’s candidates ready to start their cybersecurity apprenticeship journey.
Albert Preli attended Saint Charles High School and lettered in multiple sports throughout his time in high school to include soccer, basketball, and tennis. After graduating from high school, Albert enlisted in the United States Air Force. Upon completion of Basic Military Training, Albert began his technical training as an Airborne Mission Systems Operator at Lackland AFB, where he earned the honor graduate award. Albert recently made the decision to end his Air Force career after seven years with an honorable discharge to jump into the Cyber Security IT world. Cyber Security caught Albert’s interest after seeing how serious cyber defense is in the world today. He is currently enrolled at Lindenwood University with a projected graduation date of March of 2020 with a bachelor’s in cyber security. Albert still plays soccer along with ice and floor hockey.
Our region has tens of thousands of people like Albert Preli who are hungry to learn new skills and get into better paying jobs. We’ve seen that they’re willing to put in the hard work required; they just need the opportunity.
