Last year I was working at McDonalds, and I wanted to find something more intellectually stimulating. I’ve been passionate about cybersecurity since getting hacked at age 13, and I’m a very active learner, so the apprenticeship was the perfect opportunity for me. […] I’m doing the apprenticeship as an alternative to college. Without the apprenticeship, I’d probably still be working minimum wage somewhere. […] The experience so far has been amazing. The on-the-job training is great, and I’ve been offered a full time role after my apprenticeship ends.
The world of cybersecurity is rapidly changing, and with this Security+ certification, it further enhances my skill in problem-solving and analytic thinking. I am so grateful for this scholarship!
MC² has provided me an opportunity to obtain my security+ certification and further my career in cyber security. Not only have they invested in my education and testing, but they are also investing in my career by preparing me to find a job once my testing is completed. This organization is vital to helping bring more people into the cyber field to fill the jobs that companies so desperately need filled.
I have searched the internet and found a Cybersecurity organization called a Midwest Cyber Center. They have special scholarships for those who had just graduated from the Universities with the program in Cybersecurity. At the same time, I was studying CCNA at home. Whenever people are doing something by themselves, they face a lot of problems and nobody might help them except themselves. The classes started, and the Professor gave me an amazing pulse during my study of the CCNA. The CCNA boot-camp was full of new ideas and practices. We spent a lot of time for practical part as well as the concepts of networking. The Boson environment applications, that we were using, helped to achieve the appropriate knowledge and experience for the final CCNA examinations. I am extremely happy that I participated in this program and I recommend everyone to try it. It is free and extremely helpful for those of us who have just graduated. Good luck to everyone!
Many thanks to the MC² for their assistance in furthering my IT security goals. With the help of their scholarship program, I attended CompTIA’s Security + certification course and received my certificate. Within weeks of completing the course, I attended one of their events and made several connections with professionals seeking IT professionals, even ones as new to the field as myself. Shortly thereafter, I received two separate offers for employment, and am pleased to say that I have accepted one and am looking forward to going to work for one of the best IT companies in the city. I wouldn’t have this opportunity if it weren’t for the folks at the MC², so again, many thanks to them, especially Tony and Amber, who made the application process quick and easy, and who have been a pleasure to work with!
