Each year in October the United States rallies around the importance of cyber threats across our nation for National Cybersecurity Awareness Month (NCSAM). It is vital that all Americans have the resources they need to be safer and more secure online. The month provides a weekly theme, daily messages, and an overall message of “Do Your Part. #BeCyberSmart.” Below is a breakdown of this year’s national areas of focus.
October 1 and 2: Official NCSAM Kick-off
Week of October 5 (Week 1): If You Connect It, Protect It
Week of October 12 (Week 2): Securing Devices at Home and Work
Week of October 19 (Week 3): Securing Internet-Connected Devices in Healthcare
Week of October 26 (Week 4): The Future of Connected Devices
To bring NCSAM closer to St. Louis, CyberUp and many of our partners/supporters have teamed up to take the month one step further. Beyond providing awareness training we want to help cultivate the cybersecurity talent pipeline. We have planned events to encourage learning for industry professionals, exploration of career paths for youth, and a fundraiser to connect them both.
With the uncertainty of COVID and when everything will reopen in the region, CyberUp’s month of activities will all be delivered virtually. Check out the exciting events we have planned and see how you can support our mission and NCSAM through sponsorship, volunteering, or even participating!
Support Cybersecurity Awareness
You can do your part in the community by sponsoring a cybersecurity awareness activity whether that’s CyberUp’s Youth Educational Series, Adult CTF, or CyberUp’s GameUp: Video Game Tournament. Talk to Tony to find the best sponsorship opportunity for you or your organization.
